    Nice for the price.

It may not be the fastest computer, or the lightest or the one with the longest battery life but it is fun to use and with a few tweaks, will have you zipping along in no time flat. Battery life on a full charge is about four to five hours with screen brightness and performance set to the max. I plug it in most of the time. I got it to boot up in 3, count them, 3 seconds by upgrading the ram from the stock 6gb to the max 16 gb and swapping out the hdd with an ssd. The added benefits are that the machine is lighter, quieter (as in silent} and cooler (as in temperature) All this with modestly priced, used parts. I recommend that you use the same brand ram that came with the machine as other brands may not work as well, as I discovered. Taking it apart is a bit of a challenge at first and ...

  • Top critical review

    subpar

It is subpar at best. It tends to throttle hard when you use any moderately demanding programs. I think the throttling has part to do with its horrible cooling. Few small vents are insufficient at cooling. Id suggest a cooling fan if you want to get the most out of it. Not worth the money besides looking cool with the star wars theme.

  • Star Wars aside, it's a nice laptop

The good: the guts. Respectable specs. Good processor, 1tb hard drive (nice!), built-in wireless-AC and bluetooth 4 (saves usb ports), Native resolution of 1920x1080 (woof). The 'Eh': Keyboard sucks (common laptop issue). Recommend a USB keyboard. Not sure if it's backlit. Could use it. Not a fan of Windows 10, so I rolled back. Gotta jump through hoops with drivers to get Win7 working on it. Speakers are weak, but that's common to many laptops. The Bad: The Windows 10 Recovery media created with the HP software did not work. When I attempted to restore Windows 10, the system rejected the backup as invalid. Way to go HP. But it ended up being a good thing, as it gave me the time I needed to get working Win7 drivers.

  • HP Star Wars Computer is out of this world AWESOME!!

This is a great computer and for the Star Wars fan, a must have! We are not gamers but do put it through its paces, and so far very impressed with its capabilities. I recommend it as a desktop replacement, the larger computers like this one really aren't the best for traveling with but it is light and well made for its size. Some reviews complain about the battery life, but how we are using it, it rarely is unplugged, so battery life is not an issue for us. The sound is great. The keyboard is a bit dark if you don't use the backlight, but back light keyboard was a must for us and we use it all the time- day or night. I have MacBook Pro and it has back light all the time, I can't imagine not having it, especially for those like us that watch TV in the dark, and love to surf the web as ...

  • Great shipping and almost new

Great shipping, really fast and in perfect physical state. The only thing is that it was a pain in the ass to configure it. It had a lot of issues and had to research a lot (+6 hours) before i could start using it, because it wasn't well configured.
