  • A Confederacy Of Dunces is a great book.

When i got the book it was in great shape. Its a really good book about a fat weird man in his 30s thats been babied his whole life by his mother has to get a job after his mother has a wreak in the French Quarter in New Orlean. I enjoyed this book alot its a book that everyone should read. I decided to buy the book after I heard of the books history and the authors history by a close friend...

  • Funniest Book I Ever Read

I decided to buy this book because it is a favorite with me and my brother. We are from New Orleans and can smell and feel many of the ridiculous scenarios in this book. The book lives up to every review ever written and Ignacius lives his life in search of "Taste and decency" Along the way he gets false teeth for Miss Trixie with which to snarl and sells Lucky Dogs in the French Quarter. The book speaks to a time when there were two Woolworth stores on Canal Street and the Superdome was a distant twinkling in someone's eyes. I remember riding the streetcar for a "Silver Dime" as we say. I purchased the book because I have not had a copy in many years, this one is a hardcover and worth collecting not for the monetary value but for the laughing memories.

  • One great ride…

What a terrible shame that Toole took his life. What an homage to him that his mother was finally able to find a publisher that would back this extraordinary Pulitzer winning craziness. It’s a great, great ride; can’t thank you enough, Mr. Toole.

  • Unusual

I have so much to say about this book, for one thing it was written by my husbands cousin, loosely based on his family. John Kennedy Toole was my mother in laws brothers son, her maiden name was Toole. We were so thrilled when he won the Pulitzer, however he wasn’t there to see his work become such a success. His mother Thelma was going to have it published no matter what it took, and of course she did. If it wasn’t for her tenacity it would be forgotten in an attic. I have read a letter from her to my mother in law saying that John got his talent from her and only her. I could go on and on.
