It also makes recording events from difficult angles much simpler. Plus, you can watch your masterpiece after you've recorded it. Hi-Fi Stereo Audio Recording and Playback delivers wider dynamic range, no background tape hiss, reduced sound smearing, and better localization, for improved sonic performance. Sony's exclusive Hi8 XR can provide up to 440 lines of resolution, compared to 400 lines with other Hi8 Camcorders. Six Mode Program AE provides quick and easy setting for the proper exposure, shutter, and depth of field setting for a variety of environments. There are six modes: Portrait, Beach/Ski, Sports Lesson, Landscape, Spotlight, and Sunset/Moon. Stamina Power Management When you're out shooting the action, the last thing you want to see is the dreaded flashing battery indicator -the sign that you've got no power left. Seller made more effort try and pack item a bit more as it was going a long distance. Simple thing, but makes a difference as item can be sensitive and it was already 2nd hand item. Item also arrived much sooner than expected. The only not so great part was the local logistics just left item outside door and did not try to at least make some kind of contact with me. Anyway, would buy from seller again.

    This is a good buy

    I have had this model for over 5 yrs and it performed well. I could never use all of the features. Unfortunately I dropped my unit while on vacation and have been looking to replace it so I can view & transfer my tapes. My unit was repaired a number of times for the same problem, the zoom would activate for no reason while recording, slowly creeping to telephoto. The charger also failed to work recently. I had a problem getting the exact replacement and had to buy a generic charger. The drawback is the battery has to be charged off the unit, therefore you cannot run the unit from an ac adapter.Considering this I would still recommend it because it is simple to use and has useful features.

    Sony's best consumer analog Hi8mm

    The Sony TRV87 was one of the last consumer grade one chip non digital Hi8mm videocameras. It was also , in my opinion, the best Sony made. I am amazed at the low prices they are getting on ebay. I know everyone has switched to digital for many good reasons, but for the average consumer a good used trv87 would meet all their needs for a fraction of the cost of the latest models. It is quite easy to transfer the old analog tape to a dvd via a cheap dvd recorder. If you are taping important events use the better metal evaporated tape. The number of functions that the camera comes with is more than the average user will ever use . The taping in low light is not great but better than many low and middle end digital cameras out there plus the TRV87 can get 440 lines of resolution which is close ...

    Awesome product except battery life

    The camcorder is excellent but problem is battery with adapter doesn't respond after an hour. I do believe is the plug with adapter is good but howcome on display window doesn't show "mins" to start until full black box meaning it's completed. The mins doesn't start when charger is begun. I need your help to do is battery including adapter with plug to make correct. How long to respond in mins to take process until it will show complete?
