From the best-selling novel by Peter Benchley, Steven Spielberg directed this thrill ride of terror. During the height of beach season, the Massachusetts resort town of Amity Island is terrorized one summer by surprise attacks from a great white shark. Three unlikely partners team up to hunt down the rogue and destroy it: the new chief of police from New York (Roy Scheider), a young university-educated oceanographer (Richard Dreyfuss), and a crusty old-time fisherman (Robert Shaw). The film shoot was notoriously difficult for the young Spielberg, who had directed only one feature film before JAWS. The mechanical shark seldom operated correctly, and Spielberg was frequently forced to create the idea of terror without actually showing the shark. However, after the film premiered it went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time--surpassing THE GODFATHER and becoming the first film to gross more than a hundred million dollars. Composer John Williams created the score to JAWS, which has since become a well-known theme of impending doom. Ron and Valerie Taylor were responsible for filming live sharks in Australia; their sequences were later mixed with footage of the mechanical shark.

    Jaws 1988 VHS

    Jaws is 30 years old. This scary blockbuster film is a classic and one of the original horror films from 1975l It is an excellent movie for the fan of the scary film from Steven Spielberg. This film can be watched over and over and enjoyed by all. I loved the scene in which Brody said "We've gotta get a bigger boat" The look on his face was priceless. This was really one of the first disaster movies that were popular in the mid-70's. If you haven't seen this movie, buy it today and make sure you have lots of popcorn and someone to share this with! This movie has endured the test of time and is an all time classic film. It is suspenseful and scary and keeps you glued to your seat, even after viewing it time and time again.     We all love a classic " and Jaws is just that !! A monster shark and a town in panic " what can they do ? Well old sea captain to the rescue so it seems but " this movie has a twist in it !! Yeah " your gonna need a bigger boat !! This is a great movie and well worth watching again and again !!

    I like the movie jaws because it is cool movie, It is an incredible shark that creates this story and the man who goes after jaws made the movie I just had to have that movie after he had died. The tape that I recieved was not in good shape and had alot of flickering throughout the movie. I just hope that I myself never run into a shark like that, they can stay out in the ocean, and I will stay on land.

    The local mayor is just money hungry

    Great movie about the Great White Shark! It's been a while since I last viewed it and had the opportunity today to see it again. Still shocking and although you the know the shark is right behind him, we still jump in our seats when he appears! A great movie for your collection.
