Good camera, need firewire port to download
I'm really happy with this camera for my purposes (filming interviews for posting to internet). It's compact, easy to use, has plenty of features for me, and great quality. But I never read anywhere that you can only download video with a firewire, and my computer doesn't have a firewire port. Luckily, I was planning to buy a new computer anyway, but be aware-- my 2010 MacBook does not have a firewire port, and the Mac folks could not find any way to download the video onto my computer. I'll have to upgrade to a MacBook Pro. You can download photos via the USB port, but this camera isn't great for photos.I'm really happy with this camera for my purposes (filming interviews for posting to internet). I decided to buy this camerea mostly because it was HD 1080i. and because it had a built in camera with flash!!! I wanted two in one that did both real good, this camera had it all. So far i am more than satisfied with the results, picture quality is amazing, I hooked it up to my 50inch plasma via HDMI and WOW!!! picture is so detailed and clear,vivid, only way to describe it is... as if you where there and saw it with your own eyes. Stills are very good, you can choose from 640k to 4 mega pixels. Again picture quality is very good, I printed 5x7 with out a problem looked professional!!! I love the touch screen, is easy to read and easy to navigate through the menus. Night vision is a plus, Even when there is compleately No light, nigh shot gives you nice picture or video!!! But other than that this camera has it all!!!

Great camera, amazing picture and has great features. I did much research from ebay feedback to online independant reviews. This was as much camera I could get for this price. I got it for 830.00 brand new. I am very happy and would not want a different camera. The 2 lux light feature is great and shows amazing detail. I perfer Sony products and this just confirms that sony is the best and will always go with them for Sony camera, camcorder, and etc. I would suggest this to anyone and the HD quality is great. If you need cheap good non dvd small memory recorder, then this is the way to go. I bought mine after my little one broke my previous cannon which to me was reasonable size until I bought this one. It has clarity on images capture and I would highly recommend this particular model. It also comes with software to transfer your recordings from your mini tape to either a dvd or even share online, but I have to learn much more able how to do this but as of now I'm pleased with the recordings I have from my vacation....very goodIf you need cheap good non dvd small memory recorder, then this is the way to go.
