    About this product

    Product Information

Warning: you are about to enter the exhilarating world of extreme sports with "Tony Hawk's American Wasteland" Special Edition for the PlayStation 2. This game is set in Los Angeles, CA, the birthplace of skate culture. Players take on the role of a country bumpkin who hops on the bus with nothing more than a skateboard. This guy has big dreams of achieving fame, fortune, and some street cred. "American Wasteland" features trick-heavy challenges in an urban playground reminiscent of "Grand Theft Auto." Skate well and you are rewarded with a full-blown career. Fall down and you don't advance to the next stage of the game. Players can also choose to ride BMX bikes. This special edition is rated T for Teen. "Tony Hawk: American Wasteland" had an initial release date of 2006 and was developed by Neversoft for the PS2. Neversoft was the creator of much of the "Tony Hawk" skater series of games. In this game, you meet a wide range of fascinating characters once you reach Los Angeles. The city of Los Angeles is one vast level for you to skate in during the story mode. You start off in Hollywood before eventually traveling to a ranch in Beverly Hills. Along the way, you meet Iggy, the leader of a skating group, and Mindy, a member of the group. These two people introduce you to the city and help get you acquainted with the skating in these games. As you complete missions, you unlock a whole host of rewards. These rewards basically act as cheats that allow you to uncover a bevy of interesting features. There are two dozen unlockable features that pave the way for new character unlocks and additional levels. The character unlocks include several characters from the game, including Jason Ellis, Mat Hoffman, Mindy, and Iggy Van Zandt. There are also several other cheat code options that add better balancing and special effects, like moon gravity. During the story mode for this classic PlayStation 2 video game, you have the opportunity to explore nine different locations throughout Los Angeles, each with a distinct look. As you play through these levels, it's up to you to try and score the most points possible by performing tricks and stunts. The story mode is open-ended and provides you with various missions to complete. A classic mode is also available for added gameplay. When you play this mode, you notice that there are six separate maps to play on. These maps include such destinations as Minneapolis, Santa Cruz, NYC, Chicago, Kyoto, and another location within Los Angeles. In these maps, you have two minutes to rack up as many points as possible, even challenging friends with the offline two-player option that comes with it. There are 63 in-game songs on this title. These songs range from punk and indie rock to electronica selections. Fans of the "Tony Hawk" series and anyone who enjoys skating games love "Tony Hawk: American Wasteland" for the PS2.

Beautiful mugs, well packaged, even had the fragile stickers on the side. Unfortunately I think they got roughed up during shipment. Reached out to the seller with a photo and they were quick to respond and offered a refund even though only half of the order was damaged during delivery. Highly recommend doing business with this seller.

      Decent/Good

When I First got this game I loved it more than the rest of the tony hawk games but I had lost the game and now that I’ve ordered it, the memories came back good game and good price...it froze on me a couple a times but nothing is perfect right? So I turned off my console and turned it back on and it worked p.s.(Just make sure you save ur gameplay)

      Great game at average

Its not the worst franchise. Almost follows the roots of Underground 1 but most of the story just feels like a tutorial making it boring after some time. Nothing really amusing about the game.

    • Too many changes in the base of the game.

For me, I like Tony Hawk for the different levels to play in, different storylines, soundtrack (I know it sounds a little stupid!), and change of challenges. What I don't like is too many new moves being added, ways to do moves, and changes in the very basics of the game. One of the biggest pet peeves I have with the game, is the way you have to get your cash. Before, all you'd have to do it reach a high place, or find a secret spot with some cash hidden, and you'd be golden. Now, you reach a mission where you need $500 in funds and you only have $50! Time to get some cash, right? Easier said then done. You have to find this one dude with a dollar sign over his head and finish his "challenge" which ranges from holding a manual for 5 seconds (big whoop!) to doing tricks he calls (2 of them) ...

    • tony haw's very own waste

it's a good game. it's got a better feel than previous games. the tricks feel as though they're not as mechanically strung together, but they're truly being performed by a real skater (motion capture advancements). i dislike the game's level of difficulty (easy....easy easy). the game let's you perform almost no serious challenges but the stat challenges. the game's missions are jokes for the most part. i decided to buy this game because i only borrowed it to play it a year ago and i loved it as much as any other tony hawk game that wasn't a total mistake (ie. thug2).

    • Tony hawks American wasteland

This game was easier as a kid but I need to play it more for it to be easy ... Still one of the best Tony hawk games out there thank you dude
