      Ford Part OEM

      I was amazed how easy this block heater was to put on my truck. I changed the reservoir hose and my upper and lower radiator hoses and the coolant. It was the perfect time to change the block heater. It all ready has the sealer on the threads and Don't use Teflon tape on them you could split the housing.

      Great buy.

      U-Tube made it appear easy to install on earlier 7.3's as it was on the passenger side of engine. 1999 is on driver side. One U-tube suggested draining radiator, other's suggested no. Friend of mine is a wrench and suggested taking it into a shop. I did. One hour labor. Great job on new power cord as they tie wrapped and made it very clean installation. Temp gauge went up within 30 mins after setting all night. After market heater element was 1/3 shorter than factory. I went with factory (Ford). Orig power cord was not damaged but with 390K on truck, went ahead and replaced it.

      Does what it's supposed to do, heat within 5 minutes now.

      Works good, I bought this block heater as well as a new plug for it and I have no complaints, even if it's 10 degrees outside I have heat within a few minutes literally and my truck runs excellent as soon as I start it. Buy it if you need it.

      OE block heater review

      This is a ie part I bought as a spare mine is now over 20 years old still working . Love the convenience to have a warm engine . Nice to have during cold weather when custom engine tunes and highly modified motor parts are installed making it hard to start when cold.

      Block heater

      Easy to install. Located on driver side. Fallow the cord to side of block. OEM block heater has factory sealant on threads. Loose a little coolant when taking old block heater out and putting new block heater in without draining radiator.
