Die Seagate Barracuda Green 2 TB, Intern, 5900 RPM (ST32000542AS) Festplatte ist ein besonders leises internes Festplattenlaufwerk. Die Außenabmessungen der 3,5-Zoll-Platte betragen 26,1x101,85x146,99 mm, insgesamt wiegt die Seagate ST32000542AS 660 g. Mit einer Speichergröße von 2 TB kann sie verlässlich alle wichtige Daten aufnehmen und passt sowohl in die private Umgebung als auch in den professionellen Bereich. Mit einer maxialen Übertragungsrate von 300 MB/s ist sie zudem sehr schnell. Bei einem Cache von 32 MB beträgt die durchschnittliche Latenzzeit der Seagate ST32000542AS 5,5 ms. Als Schnittstelle kommt bei der Seagate Barracuda ein SATA-3.0-Gbit/s-Anschluss zum Einsatz. Das Besondere an diesem Speichermedium ist seine geringe Lautstärke und seine Umweltfreundlichkeit. So verbraucht die interne Festplatte im laufenden Betrieb durchschnittlich etwa 6,8 Watt, im Ruhemodus jedoch nur durchschnittlich 5,5 Watt. Auch bei der Lautstärke punktet sie: Während des Betriebs kommt die interne Festplatte auf eine Lautstärke von maximal 26 dB, im Ruhemodus ist sie mit 25 dB sogar noch etwas leiser. Die Seagate Barracuda kann in diversen Arbeitsumgebungen eingesetzt werden, dafür sorgt auch eine große Spanne von möglichen Betriebstemperaturen: Von 0 Grad Celsius bis hin zu 60 Grad Celsius ist ein Einsatz jederzeit möglich. Nicht nur mit dem stromsparenden Aspekt wird mit diesem Laufwerk die Umwelt geschont, auch sind 70 Prozent der verbauten Materialen recycelbar.
