      The item arrived missing a mounting magnet, and I encountered an issue during setup. Unfortunately, the seller never responded or offered any help in resolving the issue. While I was able to make things work in the end, the lack of communication was disappointing. I’m unlikely to purchase from this seller again.

      Working Well For Plex

      This is one of the few Synology NAS products that allows hardware transcoding for a PLEX server so for the price is a great solution.

      DS718+ Plex Server

      Primary use is currently a Plex media server. Installed 10TB IronWolf drives and the DS718+ has had no issues handling several transcode streams under stress tests. If you want to run an SSD cache though I would opt to go with the DS1018+ for the additional 2 bays of storage.

      Synology -Excellent NAS choice.

      Works well and Synology interface is slick. I put in 2-2tb Western Digital Red drives. Set up as Raid 1. Works slick. Upgrade from my old Drobo unit. Thanks!

      Upgraded from DS212j

      The DS212j was great but this 718+ is a lot faster. Really noticeable when using the DSPhoto app to remotely view photos.
