This cushion is NOT made for a big person. The padding is sufficient for someone who weighs less than 225 pounds and retains its shape well. The cover could be thicker, but it is sufficient. As someone who is 6'4" and 275 lbs, I need a sturdy cushion that "holds a wide load" (meaning I have a big frame) and this cushion is designed for the "average Joe" who may need some lumbar support. If you are big like me, you'll need a cushion with far thicker padding. It's just that simple.
