    Quality costs a bit more...

    Spend the few extra dollars and get this quality spring bar tool. The cheaper ones that you get with some spring bar kits are just that...cheap and the tips are poorly machined! Plus, the poor machining will cause you to 'slip' when actuating the spring...not fun. This is the tool that true watch service techs use...you should to.

    Very pricey - but the alternatives are generally inadequate.

    Well made, and far superior to cheap devices, but overpriced. On quality alone, I would give it five stars - on value, one star. My three star vote is a compromise between these two issues. The differences between tools is really just the forked end, not the pin end. Any tool is capable of pushing the pin from the top - but often, that isn't even an option. You have to have this tool. Perhaps, it watch tools were a bigger market, a reasonable product, at a responsible price would be available.

    Should be in every watch owners watch box!!!

    Cheap at twice the price.This is an overlooked tool for the Amateur watch tinkerer. If you have any of the fine watches made and you need to change a band or clean a metal one. This is a mandatory tool for your watch. 30 bucks is cheap, what does a scratch cost you knowing you made it? how much will it cost you if you sell it? Then see if you can do without it.
