    Drags but jolts you with a powerful revelation!

    This is the first full uninterrupted Bergman film i've seen. The filmmaking is assured but i had a little difficulty adjusting to the style. It is however a very good experience. There are only four actors (with a fifth non-speaking part) in the movie and it's a wonder how i didn't realize it until after i was trying to comprehend what the movie really meant. There's a powerful revelation near the end that either will catch you by surprise or confirm your nagging suspicion. Essential Bergman.

    One of the best movies ever.

    Follows from "scenes from a marriage." Not a happy ending sort of film but the acting and directing is overwhelmingly good. I'll have to watch it again.

    Great acting by Ullman and Josephson, great contemporary story! It is the subtle art of set design and higly emotional acting roles that give this film the stamp of high quality !

    Saraband

    For those who have seen other Bergman movies, this will seem like a culmination of his interpersonal explorations. Saraband is a logical conclusion to such works as Persona and Scenes from a Marriage. Liv Ullman's performance is stellar. I would recommend that you see other Bergman movies before this one, say Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries or Persona. Saraband is an excellent movie, but it is better once one is more comfortable with Bergman. The music in this movie is superb.
