Want to know how it was dreamed to be possible to bring back the Dinosaurs to life in a 1990's point of view off Coast of Costa Rica on an Island using thinking Machine Computers and blood from really old fossils? Want to know the thrilling disaster it was made out to be when a mathmatician called a chaotician was found to be accurate in describing the way that living things grow in a flawed system? This Jurassic Park book show's how mistakes were made bringing back carnivorous giants in a catch frase, to paraprase what fictional character Ian Malcolm describes as a technology being held in a company's hands "like a child who has found his dad's gun." This book shows the vain and disastrous side of bringing extinct animals back to life including power outage, espianage, death on a we're ... Detailed descriptions of the computer systems that keep the power on in the Park are described and their built in flaws are revealed which a programmer has taken over to steal dinosaur embryos for a large sum of money. The dark side of lightning quick upstarts is shown in many facets. Including that the little children , grand children of the Park Upstart man JOhn Hammond are left in this disaster area and must use their wit to survive. Even the beginning of the book has you trapped reading this book with it's compellingly spooky and horrifying worker accident. Where the worker was slashed and had slime on his wounds and was crying "raptor" to the medical worker, where the people who brought him described raptor as "el hupia" a ghost which when attacking people made left a stinking smell on the victim. Don't read this book unless you want to be trapped in a disaster of wanting to read the next thrilling terror chaptor. If you want to be entertained watch the movies of Jurassic Park, the Lost World, and Jurassic Park III. This series can be described as part edutainment, part Disaster thrill. Although, I recommend parental guidance for the weak of stomach and youngest. If you have Toddlers and babies, do not watch this movie with them. This series is best for thirteen to nineteen year olds, but can be watched by children if accompanied by an adult. DnA is the double helix of four different chemicals arranged in unique ways for each animal with lengths as much as 3 billion base pairs or chemical connections which I understand are binded with weak hydrogen bonds and are created by living proteins of living animals and plants. DNA science is only one part of proteomics or the study of living proteins. The cover of this book is compelling to convince a person to buy when fresh off the press. Even as an dusty book, many lessons can be learned from this including why not to "play god" with things you don't understand, and why not to trust computers for all of your care. A computer is a tool, not your mother or father. This is an excellent learning experience for those who are learning about what steven hawking described as "standing on the shoulder's of giants", you might find that moderation in technology is a good thing and it is better to have not too much or too little. But often, less technology is closer to the heart. Another story that I recommend is one where humans had become fat and lazy and machines served their every desire, soon war broke out, all human life was gone, and their were only two robots left who fell in love. Dont kno name of that story, same lesson. Less tech is better. Work w/ Hands instead.

A great novel featuring dinosaurs!
The novel is a great example of Michael Crichton work. It takes you through the viewpoints of people who are puzzled with mysterious events. The story follows a logical reasoning and as you get deeper into the novel you read about a nice variety of dinosaurs. If you have not done so already, it is good to view the feature film based on this novel. This novel would be of interest to any age group who has an interest in dinosaurs or ones who enjoy a good story. The book does have mild language and does describe in some detail the way dinosaurs attack some of the people, so it would be good to consider this before letting younger ones read this novel. But overall this book is certainly one that fans of the feature film and of dinosaurs would want to read.The novel is a great example of Michael Crichton work.
