About this product

Product Information

"Fuzzy goes where I go." Owen's fuzzy yellow blanket is his favorite possession. Everywhere Owen goes, his blanket goes with him. Upstairs, downstairs, in-between. Inside, outside, upside down. Everywhere Owen's parents are in despair--soon Owen will begin school, and he can't take Fuzzy with him then. Whatever can be done? This Caldecott Honor Book will provide reassurance and laughs whether shared at home or during circle time. Every child uses some sort of security object, whether it's a toy, a thumb, or a binky. For those not yet ready to let go and for those who have moved on, here's a story about making compromises that speaks to us all. Everyone who's ever had a favorite blanket will know exactly how Owen feels

  • "My Blankie"

Ah...what a great book. Owen can't do without his blanket. His parents are concerned because school is starting soon. A neighbor makes all sorts of suggestions but in the end his mom comes up with a great idea on how to deal with this. My youngest son is like Owen....he has this very soft blue blanket a friend knitted when he was born. It is his absolute favorite! ALthough he doesn't carry it around during the day like Owen, he MUST have it for naps and bedtime. One time we forgot it at my mom's house and it was tragic. My dad had to drive it over to us so he could go to sleep. We love reading this book. Henkes gets high marks from our family..he is a great author!

  • "Owen" is one of my favorite books for my daughter.

When my daughter was born, she was given at least a dozen pink, lacy, ruffled, personalized, and home made blankets. Yet, from a very small baby, she obviously preferred a yellow knit blanket with fringe, purchased from a store. I originally discovered the book, Owen, at the library. The first paragraph of the book "Owen" made me smile and when I read it to my daughter she smiled and hugged herself in glee. I HAD to own a copy. I plan to keep her blanket and the book, as keepsakes for her, and as a reminder to me of her sweetness and love of a simple blanket at the tender age of 3.

  • Light story about Owen, Fuzzy and Stuffy.

Owen is a cute story for children that may need to separate from their blanket or stuffy.
