Great book with excellent illustrations
Must have for pen and ink and watercolor artists. The author shows us how to use pen to enhance watercolor work. Lots of good information here on how to draw/paint just about anything, how to use light effectively, and how to add details to give more interest to your work. Very helpful.

Good demonstration of technique and a good starter for the beginning artist
This is a very nice addition to any artist's collection. It is a bit out-of-date, as they no longer manufacture the "liquid acrylic" the author prefers to use. That being said, her "liquid acrylic" is none other than a certain type of ink and could be replaced with nearly any other waterproof medium. The author also demonstrates numerous techniques: dry on dry, wet on wet, and even salt/alcohol techniques. And, the techniques in the book are by no means the only ones. It is merely up to the individual artist to try new ones or build off the ones demonstrated in the book. To learn pen/ink and watercolor artistry, you will definitely need more than just this one book; however, Claudia Nice's book is a good start. My only complaint is that some of her techniques make her artwork look a little ... This is a very nice addition to any artist's collection. Overall, I would recommend this book to any artist looking to aid their skills, just don't rely solely on this book; there are better, more detailed guides available.

Glad to add this to my art library... a really well laid out book with outstanding illustrations. Instructions are clear and invite the reader to try each of the techniques demonstrated by the author.
