Caillou's Holidays DVD
Now I remember why I didn't buy this right away. The Amazon reviews were not great. I really wanted a Caillou DVD with some holidays on it to go with the awesome Caillou's Holiday Movie DVD (which covers only Christmas). This covers Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The problem is it is the older format so it has the puppets (Gilbert, Rex and Teddy bear) and also scenes of real children dancing and playing etc. My child LOVES Caillou but had no patience for the other stuff. In fact there was crying that Caillou was over so soon (not recognizing that the puppets are just an interlude). Also, the Halloween filler scenes have ghosts and try to be cutely scary but my child is to young for that. I think the puppets and real kids would be interesting to older children (4 ... Otherwise you might stay on hand to skip those scenes and get back to the Caillou cartoons. There are probably 4-5 actual Caillou cartoon segments. Unfortunately you need to be warned- bratty Caillou rears his head just a bit on these. I had seen reviews but had yet to see it in person. Some of the older shows have a realistic whiny, complainy Caillou. (The show is written by a child development specialist, but they changed their vibe a while back and made him more agreeable.)If your child is young and not yet exibiting these behaviours you may want to avoid this. If your child is older and can appreciate more the side of how he gets this resovled for himself then it could be helpful. We have several Caillou DVDs and love them completely as is. The family is a wonderful, healthy, loving example. If you are new to Caillou, do not start here or you might not become a fan.

this is a very cute movie if u like the tv show
i bought this movie because its one of my 3yr olds favorite shows and one of the only ones not offered on pbs free episodes. it was very cute with quite a few episodes on the dvd. the only part we didn&apos;t care for was on the first episode it has puppet segments where puppets of gilbert and the toy dinosaur talk. we had never seen this on the tv show and my daughter didn&apos;t like that part.i bought this movie because its one of my 3yr olds favorite shows and one of the only ones not offered on pbs free episodes. it was very cute with quite a few episodes on the dvd. the only part we didn&apos;t care for was on the first episode it has puppet segments where puppets of gilbert and the toy dinosaur talk. we had never seen this on the tv show and my daughter didn&apos;t like that part.

Caillou won't disappoint!
I bought this for my niece who loves Caillou. It is the only thing that keeps her still long enough for my sister to get anything done. I got this for both of them as a treat and they love it. It is an older version of Caillou so the only thing to note is that there are breaks in the action for puppet characters to chime in which was a new thing for my niece who has only been watching recent episodes on PBS. Just took some explaining that Caillou was indeed coming back and nothing was wrong with her DVD! :) Good DVD to get kids pumped about the holiday season....Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are covered.I bought this for my niece who loves Caillou.
