Seller Notes: “Good-Very Good overall antique cond: Recently found in a southern NH estate & unlike many similar ... “Good-Very Good overall antique cond: Recently found in a southern NH estate & unlike many similar late 19th-early 20th c antique Naughty Nellie American cast iron boot jacks, it still has the remnants of its orig red enamel painted thigh-high bathing suit, w/high waistline & top. The cast iron has some minor episodes of oxidation & is nat pitted & whose surface cond is entirely commensurate w/its authentic antique pedigree. Initially fashioned somewhere from the late 19th-early 20th c, it dates from 1880-1910. The red enamel paint has now been degraded to a red enamel wash & appears nearly semi-transparent, where the red enamel paint orig would've been more opaque & a brighter red. The facial features as well have been slightly diminished from ostensibly the boot jack being walked upon, since the boot jack would've been placed on its back on the floor. The boot jack hasn't been touched or adulterated. Great painted surfaces & great subject matter make this a great American boot jack.”
