About this product

Product Information

When solitary marine biologist Doc Ford focused his telescope on the woman in the white boat, he didn't know his life was about to be capsized: that his conniving uncle Tucker Gatrell would discover the Fountain of Youth, that The National Enquirer would write about it, and that the law would beat down his door in search of three missing men. But Doc Ford is about to find these things out-- the hard way. Because in the shadowy world of Southwest Florida, where gators yawn, cattle craze, and Indian bones are buried, mysteries great and small have found the man to solve them...in The Man Who Invented Florida by bestselling author Randy Wayne White.

  • Worst Randy Wayne White book.

Except for The Man Who Invented Florida all of Randy Wayne White's books are really good. This one, however, left a lot to be desired both in the plot and the characters. I managed to finish it, but to be honest, I put it down over a dozen times it was so bad. I can't recommend this book, but his others are well worth buying and reading.

  • Uncle Tucker

Different from his other Doc Ford books. I kept reading to see how it ended. I felt sorry for Tomlinson , but he should have known the woman would take advantage of him. When a child is involved it is worse especially since he never married her. If you like Florida then you might like this book. Funny and entertaining.

  • Surprise.

A different take from the usual "Doc Ford" novel. This one is more about his uncle. But has the typical Doc Ford "bring it all together at the end" finish. As usual, I was caught off guard.

  • Great reading

Randy Wayne White's third book in his Doc Ford series is great reading. His books just keep getting better!

  • Good reading

Not much to tell about a book. It was a good read.
