About this product

Product Information

It was indisputably love at first sight. But Victoria Lyndon was merely the teenaged daughter of a vicar. . .while Robert Kemble was the dashing young earl of Macclesfield. Surely what their meddlesome fathers insisted must have been true-that he was a reckless seducer determined to destroy her innocence. . . and she was a shameless fortune hunter. So it most certainly was for the best when their plans to elope went hopelessly awry. Even after a seven-year separation, Victoria-now a governess-still leaves Robert breathless. But how could he ever again trust the raven-haired deceiver who had shattered his soul And Victoria could never give her heart a second time to the cad who so callously trampled on it the first. But a passion fated will not be denied, and vows of love yearn to be kept. . . even when one promises the moon.

  • Another enchanting Regency Romance.

This book captured my attention in the first paragraph and kept it. It was a wonderful read. The characters were a bit different from typical romantic hero and heroine. They seemed almost more real. Julia Quinn herself acknowledges this difference in her introductions by saying that for the first time in her writing career she made the characters fall in love at first sight. This changes the opening of the book entirely. We do not spend ages waiting for the two lead characters to realize they love eachother, but share in their joy at finding true love early on. We agonize with them as circumstances tear them apart and then root for them to find eachother again and remember what it was that they fell in love with in the first place. It was a lovely piece of writing and a very refreshing ...

  • Everything I Wish For in a Romance Novel

I absolutly adore this book! It goes from love at first sight, to loss, to redemtion seemlessly and in a way I am sure most people can relate to. Unlike other romance novels does not go through the "I want him, but I shouldn't/can't have him, but I can't stop myself" storyline which is always refreshing. If you are a fan of historical romance novels, Julia Quinn, romance novels in general or Jane Austen definatly add this to your list of must reads.

  • Another great Quinn romance.

Really enjoyed this quick read from Julia Quinn. If you liked the Bridgertons you’ll like this one.
