  • Homeschool Accounting with "The Accounting Game"

My son(high school senior) and I are working through this. I had my first accounting class in college and was at a total loss, so I wanted my son to have something that he could grasp easily. We are only on chapter 3 out of 10. So far it is great. A little hard to read out loud because it has dialogue, I wish I had gotten 2 books so we each could follow along as the other one read. Seems a little imature for adults, but this is an adult subject so you just have to understand the author is trying to make a hard subject digestable by using a kiddie subject we can all relate to. The only real downfall I found is that not all the answers are in the back of the book. So far we have been able to figure it out without much difficulty, but I'd have preferred to have all the answers already ...

  • Get started with accounting

I knew nothing bout accounting and wanted a basic overview on what it was. After reading this book I feel comfortable enough to have a general discussion about it. They use building a lemonade stand as a business example which works very well...ie You borrow money from mom and dad that becomes notes payable...you ask the deli clerk to give you lemons on credit that would be accounts payable. It was done very well. Eventually I will pick up a more advanced accounting book but for starters this book was great. After reading about accounting you realize that accounting is the backbone of any business. An accountant needs to be knowledgable about all aspects of running a business. He or she has to *account for everything. If you understand accounting you understand business!

  • Excellent book!!!

It explains accounting in a way that anyone could understand. It was so fun to read! The book quality was extremely good for this price. I can’t even believe how almost new this book is. I love this book! Would recommend it to anyone who has hard time understanding accounting! Thank you so much.
