Great HOW TO book. Plenty of photos that clearly demonstrate the stitches. The photos are in truly beautiful color and made even myself feel confident enough that if I follow the pictures, I, too could make beautiful ribbon stitches. I highly recommend this book.

what an art book this is!
Beautiful designs for both the beginner and advanced embroiderer. The book has good instructions and great sketches so that even a beginner can create the super designs and artwork. It was so much more informative than I expected. I can sit by myself and figure things out. It would be nice to go to a class to interact with the other students, but in place of that, I can stay home and embroider to my hearts content and have a beautiful design when I am finished. My experience with The Art of Silk Ribbon Embroidery
I originally bought this book in 1994 or 95. It is a very good book for beginning silk ribbon embroidery. I learned a lot from it and made quite a lot of pretty things that I have given as very welcome gifts. I lost my original copy so when I found it on e-bay I had to have another copy. I am now teaching a silk ribbon embroidery class to my neighbors living in a senior center and it is still a pleasure because everytime I look through it I find something I had forgotten or something new to show my class. One of the ladies even got a copy of her own. I know she will enjoy it as much as I do. This is a very lovely passtime with beautiful results. Anyone with any kind of embroidery experience would love this book and it is very well written. I highly recommend this book.I originally bought this book in 1994 or 95. The book gives detailed instructions and designs to create with ribbon. The designs range from the simple to the highly complex. Each stitch is explained in detail, & gives step by step instructions, very easy to follow. There are numerous pictures of designs, both for decorating items such as picture frames as well as garments. There are interviews w/several of the contributors to the book, and all in all, I would have to say this book is a veritable encyclopedia of the art of silk ribbon embroidery.
