The Intel Xeon E5-2630 2.30 GHz 6-Core Processor supports DDR3 of up to four channels to feed these cores with adequate data. There is support for a configuration of two processors, and Hyper-Threading technology takes the parallel computing capability to the next level. This includes Virtualization Technology, which enables migration to numerous environments. It supports enhanced SpeedStep technology that allows tradeoffs to be made between performance and power consumption. Its architecture, in addition to SpeedStep and Virtualization Technology, contains Thermal Monitoring Technologies and VT-x with Extended Page Tables (EPT). The Thermal Monitoring Technologies protect the package and the system from thermal failure through several thermal management features. The VT-x with Extended Page Tables (EPT), also known as Second Level Address Translation (SLAT), provides acceleration for memory-intensive virtualized applications. This E5-2630 is an excellent system for 3D modeling and rendering work. This also enables powerful, flexible data centers by supporting a Software-Defined Infrastructure (SDI) to address the imminent need of greater flexibility with higher levels of automation and orchestration. This has significant benefits in virtualization and security as well as a low total cost of ownership and Intel’s acclaimed product quality, and the Xeon 2600 v3 product family is a compelling solution for any organization. Its cache is 15MB, and Execute Disable Bit allows it to mark memory as executable or non-executable. Its clock speed is 2.30 GHz with a maximum turbo speed of 2.80 GHz for high date transfer and 7.2 GT/s bus speed for fast processing.     Doubling processor power

    Adding a 2nd Zeon is a great way to improve rendering on your computer. Just make sure it EXACTLY the same processor or it may not work. For me this was a perfect match. Six to twelve core, 24 with hyper-thread. Just smokes.
