About this product

Product Information

Before the multi-million, runaway bestseller The Da Vinci Code , Dan Brown set his razor-sharp research and storytelling skills on the most powerful intelligence organization on earth--the National Security Agency (NSA), an ultra-secret, multibillion-dollar agency many times more powerful than the CIA. When the NSA's invincible code-breaking machine encounters a mysterious code it cannot break, the agency calls its head cryptographer, Susan Fletcher, a brilliant and beautiful mathematician. What she uncovers sends shock waves through the corridors of power. The NSA is being held hostage...not by guns or bombs, but by a code so ingeniously complex that if released it would cripple U.S. intelligence. Caught in an accelerating tempest of secrecy and lies, Susan Fletcher battles to save the agency she believes in. Betrayed on all sides, she finds herself fighting not only for her country but for her life, and in the end, for the life of the man she loves. From the underground hallways of power to the skyscrapers of Tokyo to the towering cathedrals of Spain, a desperate race unfolds. It is a battle for survival--a crucial bid to destroy a creation of inconceivable genius...an impregnable code-writing formula that threatens to obliterate the post-cold war balance of power. Forever.

    Good read.

Compelling subject. A very different theme than his later novels. Once yor realize this it's a very good read. I highly recommend this book.

  • Review of Digital Fortress by Dan Brown

An enjoyable read pretty fast moving with the typical Dan Brown twists that will flip you over. This is his early work so he has both a Heroine and Hero that compliments the book from his current favorite hero of Langdon. Mr. Brown loves codes and symbols so his entry into writing will make you think of solving before his character explains it. Starts in the U.S. and takes you to other parts of the world. If you love computers and networking lingo, this is a definitely read. Don;t be afraid if you are not, everything is explained pretty well. Love and romance is also part of the make of this book so besides being a code breaker (only for fun) I always enjoy some romance. It's fun and imagery so go ahead, read it and enjoy.

  • Good book, but it's still no Angels & Demons

I purchased the book because I liked Angels & Demons and The DaVinci Code, two other Dan Brown books. It was intriguing, but a little obvious. As usual Mr. Brown does not know when to end his books. Just like Angels & Demons, I figured out who the culprit was, but the actual solution to the problem was a nail biter to the end. I just started reading Deception Point, I hope it's just as enjoyable. I suggest reading this book first, then The DaVinci Code, and then Angels & Demons, for all who want to save the best for last. Enjoy.

  • Great book for once

I have read many bad books but this isn't one. The plot has many twist and turns and it keeps you guessing throughout the whole book. One think that wasn't so great was theme. Computer security isn't the most interesting topic someone might want to read ,but if are one of those people who like hacking and things like that then this is the book for you. Finally the book was expertly structured. You go from one point of view to another to another, etc. It very interesting to see different views of the story from different characters. Altogether this book was a great read and i highly recommand it.

  • Obviously is a novel by dan brown it must be good.
