This med-szd, 9 1/2" H early 19th c American folk art New England primitive wheel-thrown & hand dec, variegated grn glz dipped top redware clay ceramic handled pitcher, feats a slab-constructed, attached handle & unglzd bottom of the vessel, showing bare redware clay, that's been fired in the kiln. The resulting finish is visually captivating & very active, w/the colors of the grn glz fluctuating, as well as its sheen. The bare redware clay shows all the nat phenomena of being fired in a kiln, w/flashes of sepia brown, burnt sienna, burnt umber & putty white. The attached handle is intact, as is the top rim & is devoid of any hairline cracks, noticeable flea-bites or repairs (old or new.) 100% auth & orig, w/no fill or in-painting. In great shape for being about 200 yrs old. This & 2 other pcs were found together. Gorgeous. Clean”
