Great value and ideal for a small band
This doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a high-end mixer but it is pretty darned amazing for the price. It has a second USB port specifially for one or a pair or Behringer wireless mics (which are okay for public address, but not so great for singing) but if you need a place to stick a half-eaten gummy bear between sets, there you go. Seriously, this has everything you need to make some serious sound - 3-band with sweepable mid plus basic compression for the eight mono channels, same eq for the stereo channels, three auxes (one for FX or other) plus RCAs in and out, etc. Check the specs. One thing not mentioned in the manual: while there is a port for a FX footswitch, the FX selector knob is also a button for turning the FX on and off. Some people miss this. Something else: if ... Something else: if you are looking for bare-bones amateur gear, look elsewhere. Like any pro mixer, even this budget-priced mixer takes time to figure everything out. For new folks, the routing can be confusing at first, but after a while it starts to come into focus. About mounting: according to the manufacturer, this is not rack-mountable (removing the side rails exposes some open space at the front corners) but it fits perfectly as-is in a slanted 10U tray, needing only a couple of restraints. A quarter-inch thick adhesive-backed neoprene pad will make it nice and snug.
