(Not having to wait until after the weekend.) Funny/sad, I washed the instrument, took a photo for my friend, then within a couple hours knocked it over at it shattered. The manufacturer situation is odd, because the same item on Amazon is reportedly by a different manufacturer, so there is a strange inconsistency there. Can't find any manufacturer details online.

You need to wrap it in bubble wrap on all sides, plus the top and bottom. Then place it in a rigid package with at least 50mm of clearance on all sides. This will survive the journey.
