    Just Go For A Used Original

    Cheap, low quality, much better off buying one of the originals used for a little more. Hopefully if they do another tape release of this it will be the original mix of the album. Hopefully if they do another cassette release it will be of the original version of the album. The lower sound quality is immediately apparent.

    Pre-Nevermind Grunge

    Nirvana hit the scene hard with Smells Like Teen Spirit and they were then a household name. They were loved for their raw power and edgy hooks. This is an example of that raw power. Kurt Cobain's sludgy guitar sound and excellent songwriting are evident on this pre-Nevermind recording. About A Girl came to light when they released MTV Unplugged, but it was first recorded on Bleach. This is the nicest song on this album. It's played with a clean guitar sound, or the closest thing Nirvana had to a clean guitar sound. Everything else on this disc is guitar filth in your face. It starts out with classic dirty guitar grunge on Blew, and doesn't stop except for the short break with About A Girl. The highpoint of the disc is on School, Love Buzz, and Negative Creep where ...
