I own a guide book on the Big Island by the same author. It is geared towards presenting facts on lodging, restaurants, attractions, etc. that help you avoid the overpriced, highly advertised tourist draws. It also has recommendations on personal safety and using the bus system (one of the best in the nation) to avoid expensive and often unnecessary car rentals. Hotels charge as much as $25/day for parking in Waikiki. It has info on economical lodging alternatives that can save you a lot of money.I own a guide book on the Big Island by the same author. Great Book!
This is more than just your typical travel guide. I'm planning my vacation later this summer to Oahu. Although I've been there before, this book is giving me great ideas for other activities besides the typical tourist traps. It's very well organized, working its way around the island from location to location. While reading this book I use postem notes to mark areas I want to visit on my vacation. It’s like taking a virtual vacation every time I read it. Very enjoyable!This is more than just your typical travel guide. I'm planning my vacation later this summer to Oahu.
