About this product

Product Information

American pressed glass, which was at its zenith in the 1870s, entails hundreds of patterns and dozens of shapes with elaborate geometric, animal, fruit, and floral designs. Available in crystal and sparkling colors, this collectible glassware flourished until the end of the 1920s when a national depression surfaced and a new glass took precedence. This all-new collector's encyclopedia features over 200 new patterns and photographs, bringing the total to more than 1,500 photos showcasing the exquisite patterns and beautiful colors of the quality pressed glass produced for 60 years in America. Bill Edwards and Mike Carwile are experts on pressed, carnival, and opalescent glass, and the sales of their other two editions of Pressed Glass prompted this third edition. This encyclopedia is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also historically correct. Collectors are sure to be pleased with Standard Encyclopedia of Pressed Glass, 3rd Edition. 2003 values.

  • Standard Encyclopedia of Pressed Glass

This is a wonderfully detailed, accurate book. I have other books on cut glass and pressed glass but this is my favorite. LOTS of photos, glass company descriptions, plus price value guides. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in learning about pressed glass.

  • I use this book frequently and it is a great value for the price!

I like this book because I am a pressed glass collector. It has many patterns shown that I have never seen before. I like the fact that it has pictures. It is a bit heavy, as it is a hardback book.

  • Very good book

Great book!!! Lots of color!! Depicts patterns well.. Lists all glass companies and factories in front of the book....Price list included in the back of book..Overall enlightening edition.
