One cover did not have exposed metal fins. When installing I found welds near some of the bolt holes interfered with the provided hardware and would not tighten properly. Rather than return and wait, I opted to mill the welds and expose the fins myself. With that said, they have the look that I wanted and clear my valvetrain.
