Excellent Speaker for all applications
I use these as Dolby 7.1 Rear Left and Rear Right. I love the fact that you can aim the tweeters and these sound phenomenal with my Onkyo TX-SR707 and the other new speakers in my system. Excellent sound and very easy to install. Painting was very easy and no problem painting the grills using a little patience. Th only thing that wasn't obvious from the photo was that the gills do bow out a little on the front and are no completely flat, but still very nice speakers.I use these as Dolby 7.1 Rear Left and Rear Right. Yamaha in-wall speaker systems
Having worked for a high-end home audio store in College, I am somewhat opinionated about sound quality. While these speakers fall short of competition like Martin Logan, Theil, Magnepan and others, they far exceeded my expectations. Dollar for Dollar, the Yamaha speakers beat the high end brands hands down. For such a small package, they somehow manage to provide adequate deep base (below 60Hz) and provide very crisp mid and high range. You will not be disappointed. Stay away from the big retailers as these speakers smoked the brands commonly found in these stores, including Klipsch, Bose, and the lower priced Yamahas.
