Excellent choice. I use it to drive a couple different microphones for Amateur Radio. One being a $25.00 Audio Technia mic. The on air reports are superb,One report from a radio operator stated that the audio was broadcast quality and sounds much better than my old Behringer mixer. I love that it is a great price point, and that there is enough of everything to suit my needs.I recommend this mixer highly. The built in FX thing is fun as well. Just get a Mackie VLZ for mixing!
I upgraded for an 1202-VLZ PRO I brought used back in 2006. It still works but some of outputs can be scratchy when turning them. The low price & the confidence of the quality in the Mackie VLZ brand is why had to get this new & improved model.

ALL pros..NO cons..This unit is a replacement from the older model 1202 VLZ and what a freaking difference.If all of my fingers were thumbs, they would be pointing north. Absolute best buy made in a long time. Pair this board up with the Mackie MR824 monitors like I have in my workshop and WOW!! Work is a pleasure now.
