Barely adequate substitute for a Hercules Stand
I own both brands and frankly, Hercules stands are much better. This “hang It Grip II” stadium by On Stage has an inferior auto-locking suspension collar. The design requires the weight of the guitar to pull down on the collar toe actuate the locking fingers that entrap the guitar neck. That drop down is about two inches. Beware! He very first time you put your guitar into it, it could literally drop and hit the floor hard. The stands neck cranes pretty high so for guitars it’s going to almost surely work for them all, but a long bass neck, not sure? If it can hold a long scale bass guitar, after the collar drops to lock it in, it’s going to be very close to the ground - less than an inch. As packages when received, it was in three parts. Fitting it together was self explanatory, however, ... I own both brands and frankly, Hercules stands are much better. Fitting it together was self explanatory, however, getting the collar component onto the aluminum neck stem was difficult to get the stem all the way down into the part of the collar it is meant to rest into. A mild fail. I got it in with a lot of force and luckily didn’t bend anything. The stem didn’t fit comfortably into the base neck. I had to fiddle with the lock mechanism to get it in. Once assembled and height adjusted tall enough for my Les Paul, it felt okay. It’s not as stable as a Hercules. I like the cost difference.
