About this product

Product Information

In director Tim Burton's sequel to his successful BATMAN (1989), the Caped Crusador (Michael Keaton) is pitted against the demented, ravenous Penguin (Danny DeVito), a pitiful, orphaned psychopathic freak who once went on a baby-killing spree, and a "power" hungry capitalist villain Max Shreck (Christopher Walken). As the two criminals plot to gain domination over Gotham City, BATMAN must plot to stop them.In the highly stylized BATMAN RETURNS--complete with dark, Gothic architecture and moody lighting--Batman (and his alter-ego Bruce Wayne) is thrown a third enemy, a terrible distraction: Cat Woman (fearlessly and fabulously played by Michelle Pfeiffer). She is the slinky, sharp-clawed alter-ego of Shreck's secretary Selina. Batman must overcome his own dark past, and his present love entanglements, to rid Gotham of it's evil enemies, this time with even more intricately designed sets and tongue-in-cheek humor, making BATMAN RETURNS an action-packed, but darkly fun adventure.

SHOULD HAVE READ ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ON THIS SELLER! Falsely advertises items as nicer than they really are. I specifically asked seller prior to them shipping my item, to be sure everything was in nice shape. Ordered BRAND NEW BLU RAY w/SLIPCOVER advertised in nice condition but received with WARN SLIPCOVER. Contacted seller about issue and she blames it on the USPS & tells me to ship it back because apparently she does not know how to give partial refund?!?!? WASTE OF YOUR TIME & MONEY!!!!!

  • Batman Returns: Special Edition

After the enormous success of the first Batman (1989), Tim Burton was offered the chance to make a sequel and — as is often the case with such efforts — was given more freedom to do what he wanted. As such, the 1992 follow-up Batman Returns is a better Burton film and congeals into a more coherent narrative, even if it winds up less satisfying as a whole. Still living his dual life as Bruce Wayne by day and The Dark Knight by night, Batman (Michael Keaton) takes a backseat role as the film introduces its two leads: The Penguin (Danny DeVito) and Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer). Born Oswald Cobblepot and dumped in the sewers because of his freakish deformities, The Penguin was raised by penguins. After he kidnaps businessman Max Shreck (Christopher Walken), the two plot to make Oswald mayor. ...

  • Not as good as it should've been

Batman Returns is Not as good as it should've been Not my favorite Batman movie, not even close. I really loved the original Batman, but Batman Returns just doesn't do it for me. I think it might have something to do with the villians (Penguin and Catwoman) they just aren't movie material in my opinion. The beginning is great, I really love the evil circus, but the rest of the movie really dissapointed me. Batman Returns isn't horrible, I just don't feel it does the Batman franchise justice. On the plus side, Christopher Walken is absolutely spectacular as Max Schreck. Final Verdict: 3/5 Rent or Buy?: If you're a huge Dark Knight fan this movie is obviously a must buy, but if you're just a casual fan a rental will be just fine. IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO ...

  • A sad tale of the Unusual

A baby born a little diffrently, meaning half man, half penguin is dumped into the dumped zoo by his parents. Nearly 30 years later, The Baby has become an angry man who has vowed to kill all in Gotham for he cannot kill his parents who are already dead. Some one must Pay!!! So it is up to The Batman to stop him befoire it is too late. Meanwhile Christopher walken plays an evil man who kills inocent secretarys, has vowed to work with the penguin man to take over Gotham, it is up to the Beautiful Catwoman to kill him with her 9 lives, but she too must be stopped by Batman for he's learned from killing the crazy Joker, Violense is not the answer. Tim Burton's classic!!!!!!!!!!

  • great sequel

Tim Burton and Michael Keaton are back at it again with another great movie. Keaton reprises his role as the nocturnal crime-fighter. Danny Devito penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer catwomen are great. Tim Burton directing style and Michael Keaton acting gives this movie that dark feeling that Batman is suppose to have and fans have come to love.
