  • One of the All-Time Great Film-Noirs presented as only Criterion knows how.

The Criterion Collection's Blu-ray release of Carol Reed's 'The Third Man' is THE definitive release of this classic noir. Their A/V presentation blows any other version's out of the water. And their plentiful supplements immerse the viewer into the experience that is 'The Third Man' in a manner that is both insanely informational and extremely entertaining. But more than the edition, you should buy this for the film; Karas' memorable zither, Reed's gorgeous direction, Welles' wonderful appearance and the stunning photography that brings Vienna to the forefront of the film, making it as much a star as the cast themselves.

Getting to see a classic such as The Third Man in Blu-Ray was a treat indeed. Even in black and white it pops off the screen and looks amazing. It is Orson Welle's most memorible performance right behind what many people consider the best movie ever made Citizen Kane. Being able to find it in Blu-Ray for such a great price on Ebay was just an added bonus. I couldn't reccomend it any higher. My advice, when there is something you need, always check Ebay first.
