  • A prophetic warning about the rise of fascist tyrrany in America!

This is an unjustly forgotten work by Jack London. The Iron Heel is a prophetic, clarion call that we are in a life and death struggle with a ruthless oligarchy which is determined to reduce us to slavery. Written before the rise of formal fascism, London almost clinically analyzes fascist thinking, methods, and worldview, as well as the futility of many of the means proposed for resisting the rise of the Iron Heel. In fact, he has the courage to suggest that many folks who should oppose it will sell out and embrace it. As a literary work, it is interesting because it is ostensibly the journal of the wife of one of the revolutionary opponents of the Iron Heel, in fact, it is an annotated edition published seven centuries after the fact, and four centuries after the fall of the Iron ...

  • The Iron Heel

A person recommended this book and since I have never disliked a book written by Jack London, I bought this copy for myself. Even though The Iron Heel was written in 1940, currently we are experiencing the same greed and heartlessness from the giant corporations. They don't care about their employees and we're always being smashed under their big boot. Simply written and easy to read, this book proves that the common man's fight for justice is never over. Socialism, unions and elimination of the elite classes might help the lower class have an acceptable existence.
