Voglio sottolineare che la donna italiana che decide di avviare un'attività imprenditoriale possiede un livello di istruzione alto e superiore a quello dell'uomo imprenditore. Raggiungono una percentuale vicino al 21 percento le donne con una laurea, gli uomini laureati che fanno impresa si attestano intorno al 16%. Nelle pagine del mio libro emerge anche, tra le altre, la particolarità di una presenza femminile nelle giovani società innovative addirittura minore che nelle aziende. Eppure, studi e ricerche internazionali dimostrano la correlazione positiva delle performance aziendali con leadership femminile sia nelle start up sia nelle aziende tradizionali. È noto che le start up fondate anche da donne hanno maggiore probabilità di attrarre investimenti rispetto a quelle costituite da soli uomini». L'aumento della partecipazione delle donne al mercato del lavoro ha un forte impatto positivo sull'economia, soprattutto a fronte di una riduzione della forza lavoro e di una carenza di competenze. Per la Commissione europea è un mezzo che consente alle donne di plasmare la loro vita, svolgere un ruolo nella vita pubblica ed essere economicamente indipendenti.
