About this product

Product Information

In this detailed look at one of the most significant battles of the Second World War, filmmakers document the fighting that occurred in the Crimea after the area was secured by General Manstein in 1941. During the struggle to secure the Crimea, General Manstein and his men overpowered two entire Soviet army troupes. Later, when the Germans were defeated at Stalingrad and Kursk, General Manstein and his men suddenly found their supply route cut off as advancing Soviet forces grew increasingly intense. Rare archival footage helps to tell the tale of this defining battle in greater detail than ever before. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Having traveled to the Crimea, this DVD was a God-send for understanding what went on there from 1941-44. This DVD was extremely focused. It tells in detail the overall strategy of the OKH in the Army Group South area of operations, and the part that the Crimea played in it. The film footage and the battle plans and strategy displayed are excellent. You can not watch this film and not come away having learn about an important battlefield of WW II. For the History or military buff it is a must to view and to own ! ! !
