Fast Paced Murder Mystery, Less Hype Than DaVinci Code
If you enjoyed the Da Vinci code, then you'll also enjoy this book. It's a page turner from start to finish. Again, it could be interpreted as religiously volatile, but since it doesn't put into question the entire Christian religion, it hasn't gotten nearly the publicity. A fanatical religious group, the Illuminati, has stolen the worlds first man made sample of anti-matter. The anti-matter could cause the destruction of the entire world if its enclosure is not properly controlled. The Illuminati hold the Vatican, and the world, hostage while watching the countdown to the end. This fast paced adventure introduces readers to Robert Langdon, a religious symbologist. He's the protagonist in that other little Dan Brown novel, The DaVinci Code. But this is the first book in which Mr. Langdon ... If you enjoyed the Da Vinci code, then you'll also enjoy this book. Without revealing anything earth shattering, Langdon successfully saves the world from destruction. I heartily recommend getting this book.

Better than The Da Vinci Code!
I read The Da Vinci Code because of all of the attention it was getting. I truly enjoyed that book and went on to read Dan Brown's other books. Angels & Demons was the 2nd book by Dan Brown that I read and I found the book to be far more interesting, with better character development, more descriptive text and more suspense. The story is wildly creative and the use of ambigrams (words that appear the same whether read right-side-up or up-side-down), the Illuminati (an ancient secret society), the conclave (the Catholic process of selecting a new Pope), humanity (including members of clergy) at it's best and worst, all added something that can only be described as superbly imaginative. Say what you will about the "clatter" surrounding The Da Vinci Code, but this book was captivating to the ... I read The Da Vinci Code because of all of the attention it was getting. I truly enjoyed that book and went on to read Dan Brown's other books. The characters in this novel, including Langdon from The Da Vinci Code, were deep and complex with inner-demons that they faced whilst facing the true demons of the real world. The Da Vinci Code was good, but this novel was phenomenal; absolutely perfect. I would give it a 6/5 (6 out of 5) if it made sense to do so.

Angels and Demons
I bought the Audio book of Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. This was used primarily for my son's book report that he had gotten behind on. I was also reading it. The audio book is, of course, more condensed and therefore leaves some details out. The audio book was great for the purpose in which I had intended. I really enjoyed being able to ride in my car and listen to the CD's, since I rarely have uninterupted time to spend with a book! Overall, I was very pleased with my purchase!I bought the Audio book of Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. This was used primarily for my son's book report that he had gotten behind on.
