    wonderful dirtball character gets rewarded for well hidden goodness

    this is a great movie. Dustin Hoffman plays a real dirtball to perfection, he is hilarious. this movie just doesn't get old. i view this in the same category as lethal weapon, oceans 11, hunt for red october, and red. never get tired of it. similar movie "type" is Michael with John Travolta.

    Great Movie With a Great Cast Of Actors !!

    I love this movie ! It reminds me of a time in my life when I was going through a divorce with my sons mother. I felt a little like Dustin Hoffman in the character Bernie Laplante he portrays in this movie. And it always bring a smile to my face. The 1st time I watched it I had my son for the weekend and had never heard of the movie before. My son didnt really want to watch it, but upon viewing the cast I decided that it would be worth watching. We loved this movie and have watched it several times. I just bought a DVD copy for myself and one to give my son for Christmas. This movie didnt do well at the box office and has never really been well received. It is generally unknown by most of the general public. But it is one of my favorite movies and always will be. I highly recommend it to ...

    I purchased this DVD of Hero because I accidently broke mine. This is a must in any DVD collection. This movie draws you in from the very beginning. The actors chosen for the parts were so perfect. The story line is about 3 main characters whose lives are about to change in a big way--A down and out father and ex-husband--his dispointed and angry ex-wife who is worried about her son, and a ex-warhero who has accepted his poor way of living. Then suddenly, one-- out of control circumstance, begins the interesting rolling ball of change between relationships, and lives on a personal level, and the story comes to a full circle of meaning and awakenings.
