About this product

Product Information

Nicholas Stoller's FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL is a romantic disaster comedy produced by the same team that made such hits as THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN and KNOCKED UP, headed by writer, director, and producer Judd Apatow. When he gets suddenly and unceremoniously dumped by his longtime girlfriend, television star Sarah Marshall (VERONICA MARS lead Kristen Bell), composer Peter Bretter (FREAKS AND GEEKS alum Jason Segel) is devastated. Miserably depressed, he seeks solace in tawdry one-night stands, but he is desperate to win Sarah back. On the advice of his stepbrother, Brian (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's Bill Hader), Peter heads off to Hawaii for a much-needed vacation, but he gets even more freaked out when he discovers that Sarah and her new beau, wild and wacky British singing sensation Aldous Snow (comedian Russell Brand), are staying there as well. Mired in sadness, Peter is befriended by hotel employee Rachel Jansen (THAT '70S SHOW's Mila Kunis), who encourages him to get back his life and pursue his own dreams, which include staging a Dracula musical with puppets. But Peter is blinded by his desire for Sarah even as he grows closer to Rachel and starts hanging out with some of the hotel's odder personalities, including Chuck (Paul Rudd), a drug-addled surf instructor, and Matthew (SUPERBAD's Jonah Hill), a drug-dealing restaurant worker obsessed with Snow. Segel, who gets fully naked several times in the film, wrote the screenplay, a sharp blend of comedy and drama, and is solid in his first major starring role. Stoller, making his feature-film directorial debut, gets the most out of his diverse cast and beautiful setting, especially Jack McBrayer and Maria Thayer as a newlywed couple having some bizarre sexual problems, and Billy Baldwin as Sarah's costar in the television show CRIME SCENE: SCENE OF THE CRIME. FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL is an outrageously funny yet touchingly sweet movie.

  • Hilarity, Fun, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is simply a great watch.

Hilarity, fun, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is simply a great watch. It's funny, touches on 'normal' life subjects and adds some hilarious depth to the characters. It's kind of a love match story, but far askew from normalcy. I loved it. This is a replacement disk for me since my entire family watched our original blue ray SO MUCH! Funny, funny, funny....without being remotely stupid.

  • Its a more "Classy" and "Adult" version of American Pie

To be quick and to the point, I absolutely loved this movie. I laughed through-out the entire thing and it really had very few, if any slow parts. Every conversation between any of the characters, one of them is going to go off and say something completely random that will at least draw a chuckle from your lips. Perhaps it was the perfect comedy movie for me because it was not so over-hyped that you went into it with raised expectations. Situations like that tend to ruin a movie completely (Juno for example). I call it the "Classy" and "Adult" version of American Pie because rather than relying on the typical teenage male humor, this one is honest comedy. It doesnt rely on the viewer to be immature to giggle at its fart jokes. Its a more tasteful and situational type of humor expanding ...

  • Forgetting is the perfect word....

I was a bit dissapointed with this movie. There were some funny parts in this movie. There are many nuidity scenes in this movie.I love Kristen Bell as a actor and was expecting a little bit more from this movie.I absolutely loved the Hawaii background through more than half of the movie.Peter the main guy in this movie is funny, but makes him seem so desperate for the girl he just lost to another guy.It does show a side that you don't see in guys very often. This is a guy who shows his feelings and yes does cry!It just goes to show that when you try less to forget someone it will happen sooner.Good story & good ending, just not as good as the commercial previews showed it seemed it would be.Rented this movie, and I'm going to be glad to be returning it too.

  • Overall it's good but don't expect a classic

The movie itself was entertaining enough to keep me happy. Yes, there were a lot of unfunny moments that I felt could have just been left out. The chemistry between all of the main characters worked really well though. This was a comedy that shows how real relationships end and how you move on.....or how hard it is to move on. It takes something depressing and makes it really funny.
