  • the best CPU I've ever used

This is a great processor. I've been using one in my ASUS m4a89gtd pro/usb3 for a year and it's so fast. with the ASUS core unlocker you have an instant 4core CPU great for molti tasking. I sometimes have 50 web sites open at the same time. and it's such a low watt CPU, I really don't need a fan at all. great processor for an HD Video set up. I just bought another 555 used for $50.00

  • Speed, Power, Price...everything a guy could want...

What can I say? I love this CPU. AMD has been a mainstay of my business since the day I opened. The Phenom II series CPUs offer amazing speed at a very affordable price. With 30 years in the computer industry, you can bet that I've encountered a lot of junk - this is a product you can bank on with confidence.

  • Get a good MB and unlock to 4 cores!!!

most bang for the buck to-date! (Aug, 16, 2010) pretty fast; booting takes 30 sec everything is super fast. i haven't Over-clocked it yet. (there is no need at this moment) i have unlock the cores. it seemed to boosted up the speed. after unlocking, the CPU indicated as "AMD Phenom II X4 B55." it is the 74th fastest up-to-date! http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Phenom+II+X4+B55 that is the source. not bad CPU under 90 bucks!!! get it while you can.

  • fast and easy overclockable

I decided to build a modest gaming system. did some reseach and i chose this CPU. It is affordable and it is a great product. I is is easily overclockable and can unlock xtra core with the right match and software. If you want to build a solid system on a budget go with AMD.

  • X2 555 Black edition is a great overclocker

I was able to easily set the multiplier to 18 and increase Vid by .05 and get perfect operation in a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H motherboard. Running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit OS smoothly and max temp is 46°C (100% load test on both cores) with a Scythe Ninja rev. B cpu cooler and 2GB (2x1GB) of OCZ 1066 DDR2 ram (2.1v). Could have pushed it further but this was a client build and stability was foremost. BIOS unlocked other 2 cores but Win7 wouldn't boot perfectly but that's the chance you take with a Phenom II x2 cpu.
