About this product

Product Information

A grieving Amish mother struggles to forgive the woman whose husband killed her daughter and four other innocent schoolchildren in this drama inspired by the tragic true-life events that unfolded in a Nickel Mines schoolhouse on October 2, 2006. It was a senseless crime that no one could have foreseen. In the wake of the shooting, the media descended upon Nickel Mines, and the parents of the murdered schoolchildren remained steadfast in their promise to practice forgiveness -- except for Ida Graber (Kimberly Williams-Paisley). Devastated by the loss of her beloved daughter, Ida found herself unable to forgive the gunman and his wife, Amy Roberts (Tammy Blanchard). With each passing day Ida's sorrow continues to fester, testing her faith in ways that she, and many others in her community, never dreamt of.

    SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

If you are unsure of how the amish live, think, and believe then this movie will teach you a lot. Not one second of this movie is boring. From the moment this movie begins until the end you will either be on the edge of your seat or holding your heart with tears in your eyes (i am not a cryer but i will admit that tears did well up in my eyes. If you are building your christian movie library (like me), or just wanted something new to watch this movie is a absolute MUST SEE!

    Received damaged DVD. HIGHLY UNUSUAL.

Several areas on DVD lock up. Stop on a frame. Whole section must be skipped to continue. So have not seen entire movie. Great movie. For some reason Amish Grace is beyond expensive online. Otherwise, would simply buy another DVD. This is the only reason for low rating on my part. Love movie.

  • A Story That Should Be Told.

"Amish Grace" was a story that should be told. This movie based on the true story shows that a person's faith in Jesus Christ can be tested in the worst way but that faith can be very real to help when tested. The story also brings out just how human the Amish are and they have to rely on their faith to bring them to forgiveness. It also reminds us that holding hate in our heart only hurts the one with the hate. As the story unfolds, it kind of puts us in their shoes where we will ask ourselves if we could have this kind of forgiveness? I know I ask myself if I could pratcise what I believe about forgiveness if this had happened to me. A very sad story with lots of emotion so I don't know anyone that could watch this story without crying. You will still be crying at ...

  • An excellent movie for anyone interested in the Amish

This movie is based on a true story; a terrible incident that took place near my mother and father's home in Lancaster County. However, the movie is based on the Amish belief of forgiveness; something most of us can not understand until watching this movie. Since my parents lived in that area I've had many encounters with the Amish. Their way of life is interesting to say the least. Their children mean everything to them. I've often envied their way of life in that without television Amish families interact in a way we (the English) often do not. While (our) children and husbands are watching television and focusing on actors playing a part - an Amish family will be interacting in other ways. Actually speaking and learning from one another. This movie was accurate in ...

  • Useful message for everyone.

Entertaining might not be the right word. The movie has a very powerful useful message.
