About this product

Product Information

The Celestron PowerSeeker 127EQ reflector telescope is an excellent choice for the budding astronomer. The complete system provides long-lasting use and performance. Kids and adults alike will be enthralled at the pristine images they discover. The software that comes with the telescope helps you to find and search the sky and identify thousands of celestial objects. No tools are required to set up your system, making it simple and easy to use for people of all ages and skill levels. The Celestron PowerSeeker telescope is ideal for families wanting to explore the wonders of the universe together. Its powerful optics let you focus on faraway celestial bodies at a stunning 300 times the human eye’s ability. The controls are easy to use, and the system is an excellent value. There’s even room to set your binoculars. Its fully coated glass optical components provide enhanced image brightness and clarity for a more enjoyable experience. A wide aperture Newtonian reflector is the type of system that allows much more light to enter the telescope than you might expect. The focal length is 1000mm. It has a 100mm to 150 mm aperture and features a 3X Barlow lens that triples the magnification of the eyepieces. This means that you are able to make out deep-sky objects that would otherwise be invisible. An easy object to check out with the Celestron PowerSeeker is the moon. Although you can easily see the moon with your naked eye, this will add a new dimension to your view. Peering through the eyepiece, you’ll feel like you’re walking on the surface of the moon instead of standing far away. You’ll get a good look at the craters, seas, and mountains that are invisible to the naked eye. The equatorial mount on the unit allows you to track objects for hours. Beyond the moon are the other planets in our solar system. Use the Celestron PowerSeeker to check out the rings of Saturn and the plains of Mars. You can also look at the bright surface of Venus or take a look at Jupiter’s red spot. Change out eyepieces to help you find and identify some of the moons of other planets, especially those around Mars. In addition, you’ll be able to view other galaxies and some of the nebulae that can be found in our sky. The telescope and tripod combination weighs only 17 pounds and measures just 11 inches by 17 inches by 33 inches. This means that it is small and light enough to transport just about anywhere. Take it with you when you travel, whether on a long trip or just outside the range of the city lights. Wherever you go, this telescope will stand up to the constant packing and unpacking that traveling requires, and it can handle tough conditions.

This ended up being a very good transaction for me. Product was as exactly as described, price was good and arrived very well packaged. Shipping took a bit longer but in all fairness seller stated upfront there would be a shipping delay so no problem. Overall I'm pleased with transaction and would buy from this seller again.

    Great beginner scope

Took it out for first time last night, had no trouble finding Jupiter and Saturn within minutes, View was great, Tried several of the lenses and they all work good. Sturdy construction and good optics. Had a little trouble with the tracking knobs, but that is just me not being familiar with the scope since it was the first time using it. I would recommend this scope for a beginner, as for some of the negative reviews, I think some people expect to have Hubble type images and are disappointed when that's not the case.

    Selestron 127EQ

hello all , the telescope its self seem's ok for a beginner ,but the stand and mount are total rubbish , i had to spend 1 .1/2 hours pulling it apart and ajusting / mod it a bit so it would sort of work ,but i would not buy another one of these ,,,yes i am a beginner but if i wasnt a bit mechanical this mount would not be usable at all ,a grate way to put off a new bee like myself . i did send a email about it but got no reply so far ,,i Recomend doing your home work about this type of mount / telescope . for a few more bucks after realy looking and doing my home work,,, i should have got the ( Dobsonian ) .....good luck all and i hope this helps others . regards

  • The Celestron Powerseeker

Over all the Power seeker is a very good telescope . It needs help from its manufacture such as the most important part. The focuser it is of very poor quality and almost impossible to focus. I do have too say one thing it is built strong. And a snap too set-up!!

  • EQ 127

Not as easy to use as the last one i had but easier to set up harder to keep the spotter scope aligned because of shims to go with the tightening screws. But well worth the money if we could get the planets to show up earlier it would be nice.

  • Bird Jones telescope = waist of money!

Disappointed with image quality. Image can never be sharp due to design, always blurred right through focal point. Google "Bird-Jones" telescope issues before buying. And.. don't waist over $400 on this worthless design. Buy a 76-700 type, proper long tube with a smaller 3 inch mirror but better optics for half the price and get really good quality!
