My girlfriend hated it...
...but I don't care. It's still one of my favorite dystopian psychological horror films ever. It's one of those films you have to watch more than once to really get what's going on. I get more out of it every time I watch it. Terry Gilliam is a strange genius.

The future looks very convoluted. Very high tech but nothing works, the government means well but it is paranoid and over-eager, simplicity is complex and nothing is what it should be. Of course this comes from the mind of Terry Gilliam. To try to describe this movie is not easy. Basically the wrong man has been arrested and is up to one lowly official to correct the error. Thing is that the government mistakenly thinks Sam - the lowly official - is behind terrorist attacks. Poor Sam is miserable with his life and all he wants to do is fly away with the girl of his dreams - whoever that may be. This movie is a fun, quirky, dark comedy that is NOT for everyone. for the dystopian inclined this is the best christmas story about love and human desire. what could possibly go wrong? spoilers, sweetie...just enjoy!

a weird mix of fun
