Mike (Jon Favreau), a recent transplant to Los Angeles, has broken up with his long-time girlfriend of six years and is still having trouble letting go and moving on. His friend Trent (Vince Vaughn) takes him on an overnight trip to Las Vegas in an attempt to get him back in the game. Trent picks up a cocktail waitress (Deena Martin) and her actress friend (Katherine Kendall), but Mike's obsession with his ex-girlfriend spoils the one-night stand. Back in Los Angeles, Mike attends various Hollywood and Los Feliz hot spots, including The Derby, The Dresden Room and the Hollywood Hills Coffee Shop, while his friends, Rob (Ron Livingston), Charles (Alex Desert) and Sue (Patrick Van Horn) coach him on the rules of seduction. Mike makes several awkward attempts at speaking to women, but they ... As Trent tries to recover from the embarrassment, Mike smiles as the tables turn.

Double down on 11 ! Its Money baby!!
You have to hand it to director Doug Liman, he has captured the essence of a typical blokes night out in 90 minutes. This film is one of the greatest I have seen. Concentrating on the life of Mike (Jon Favreau) who's long term relationship has ended and stand up career hasn't even started the film shows how a bit of male bonding can help sort that all out. With some help from his mate Trent (an excellent Vince Vaughn) and a few others they manage to lose money at Vegas and travel the LA club and bar scene with often hilarious results. Every bloke will notice parts of this film and say "god I've done that or that has happened to me one time or another". This is what makes the film entertaining and thoroughly watchable. Sheer Perfection. BIG $$ ain't the key to a good film!
Jon Favreau wrote a fantastic script; Doug Liman directed a great flick; Vince Vaughn owned the film. 'Nuf said! OK, maybe a little more. This has got to be one of, if not THE, greatest indie films of all time. And, like I said, BIG MONEY doesn't make a great movie. There have been plenty of big dollar box office flops, but you can probably count on 1 hand (maybe 2) the number of films that were made for what equates to peanuts and still totally own every minute on the screen. This was an instant cult classic, acclaimed by critics, and it got the big-time attention it deserved later on. Mike, an every day "joe", broke up with his girl, moved to L.A. to be a comedian, and settled in to a long time funk. His "west coast" pals, some real characters (enter Vince Vaughn and Patrick Van ... Jon Favreau wrote a fantastic script; Doug Liman directed a great flick; Vince Vaughn owned the film. 'Nuf said! It is intelligent, sappy (in a good way), relatable and HILARIOUS. Great soundtrack to boot.

Awesome movie especially if your a guy trying to get over someone. It makes you laugh, and feel better. It is a great movie Vince Vaughn is so skinny in this movie but still hillairious!!
