About this product

Product Information

Perfect for rugged, durable applications, the handheld, industrial DYMO Rhino 4200 Thermal Label Printer prints barcodes, file folder labels, name tags, and even small cable/wire flags. This professional label maker is easy to use, is portable, and doesn’t use expensive ink or toner cartridges to print. Instead, the industrial printer uses heat-sensitive materials to print in black and white onto four different sized rolls. The DYMO Rhino 4200 comes with an integrated cutter that slices the label off the roll, leaving you to remove the thin layer that protects the sticky side and affix it to any area, including curved and textured surfaces. It also prints on non-adhesive DYMO brand labels and directly on heat-shrink tubes, which is plastic that insulates small wires into a tubular shape. This feature is perfect for attaching labels to multiple surface types such as fabrics, test tubes, wires, hard plastics, and wood. The 7-inch by 4.63-inch by 2.25-inch printing machine is yellow with black bumpers and prints two lines with a maximum of 15 characters per line in seven different type sizes in 10 mm per second each. Tag office accessories as well as school, art, and even medical supplies with heat/cold-, ultraviolet light-, oil-, water-, and chemical-resistant rolls of tape. This feature is ideal for labeling outdoor equipment that’s regularly exposed to the elements, such as snow, rain, ice, and extreme hot and cold temperatures. Oil-, water-, and chemical-resistant labels are useful in automotive garages and similar businesses that expose supplies and other essential accessories to grease and other liquids. The DYMO Rhino 4200 label maker prints in 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, 1/2-inch, and 3/4-inch on flexible nylon, indoor/outdoor vinyl, and permanent polyester rolls. Print on color or white labels with the black or white font. Print in eight different type styles with the ability to underline and frame each tag. See what you are doing when working in low-light areas with the large, backlit display, and if you do bump into something or drop the DYMO Rhino printer, the rubber bumpers help protect it. You don’t need a power outlet to use it. The DYMO label maker runs on six AA batteries and is compatible with a fast-charge lithium-ion battery. Use the pre-programmed library to access 150 symbols and terms for electrical, pro-A/V, security, and facilities management to organize cables, label videos, and prepare display cases for upcoming holiday sales or clearance specials. Another helpful feature is the repeat function that continues to print the same label up to nine times in a row. The industrial DYMO Rhino 4200 label printer uses a QWERTY keyboard and hotkey shortcuts with 25 custom favorites for the symbols and terms you regularly use for quick results while working in shopping aisles or labeling identification tags for regular shipments of supplies. Use the auto save and auto power-off features to extend the battery life and not lose your work. The DYMO Rhino 4200 Thermal Label Printer Kit comes with the machine, a vinyl label that is black on the white cartridge, and the quick reference guide.

A step up from the average label printer.

I bought this label printer mainly because of the features and the many label printing configurations. It is very well made and has a neat amber-yellow backlight and accepts up to 3/4" tapes. It takes 6 AA batteries or 2 rechargeable. Does not come with any type of hard case or carrying pouch, so care must be taken when transporting it. It also has a 9-VDC power input, but it is of the reverse polarity type; in which the outer part of the plug is the "+" while the inner part is the "-" . Ovberll very good label printer.

  • It's decent.

I miss some of the functionality from the rhino 5000 to this one. I don't see patch panel functions that print numbers in serial. It's a good upgrade though, and I really like having a lot more sizes to choose from than just S, M and L.

  • Dymo Rhino 4200 - Good Design, Well built

Labeling machines are a personalf thing. What you plan to use it for and what you actually do use ti for does determine what brand and model you buy. There are sooo many models and brands out there. I chose this Brand because I have known Dymo for decades. I chose this model because It is industrial quality Can take a beating. As I use this in the field, I need to be confident it will not die or break apart. It may seem bulky and akward for the size. It is not. The querty layout makes it a dream. I learned how to type. so this makes using this model fast. RE: wasting label space at the beginning and end. It seems all label makers now do this. learn to serial enter your lables (write multiple in sequence. double space between each entry and cut yourself). For special functions. cable wraps, ...

  • Finally a decent economical wire label maker.

Easy to use, regular batteries or optional rechargeable lithium kit, label cartridge available at Wal Mart. Crisp print, easy to load. Qwerty keyboard. Remove the cartridge when not in use, so the feed roller is not continuously against film and label, It will stick together and jam. Always remove the batteries after use so they don't corrode inside the unit. Nice size, easy to hold.

  • Inexpensive and easy to use

I have retired from the professional workforce almost ten years ago. I used to weekly make labels for electrical panels, switches and safety equipment. Now out of the workforce I still need from time to time the use of a printer to label home items including electrical equipment, switches, panels, storage containers, even my granddaughter's toys! My original equipment was the Brady 2200, which proved to be really nice but with a high initial cost, and a high cost for printing material. The Dyno Rhino 4200 unit was inexpensive, easy to use and tape materials are very reasonable. The only downside is for battery power use, as there is no warning to power use, so the printer will stop without any warning sometimes in the middle of a operation. So I strongly recommend the use of a power ...
