David Tutera, Party Planner book
This book is pretty good. It has lots of colorful pictures that help you to visualize the concepts he explains. He has such a creative mind's eye and his truly talented at what he does. This book is just the tip of the iceburg with what he can do. I do like that he gives scenerios such as Tommy's birthday party or Tom and Dianne's proposal dinner....but more than anything, I love that he gives so many great tips. On the down side, I wish it had shown more of his floral arrangements. He is very gifted with these...and for the kids' birthday party, I didn't really see it as very practical that he would make an elaborate centerpiece for a child's party...but I guess no suggestion can really hurt. I absolutely love this book! The ideas are wonderfully impressive. David starts with the look and perhaps some small crafty ideas that you can throw together easily, he then writes about the scent that should go with the theme of the party. This would be flowers and foliage, foods and perhaps the specialty drink of the evening that he matches perfectly to your event. The next is the touch section. David takes the theme of the event and goes as far as he can with even the smoothness of the tables and of the wine. David takes you next to the taste portion of your party, this will be all about the food and drink!! He has recipes for drinks and appetizers, dessert and entrees. He puts together food ideas and pairings that fit the theme of the party just perfectly.He also has menu ideas ... I absolutely love this book! The ideas are wonderfully impressive. David's thought of everything, right down to the last gorgeous detail.

THE PARTY PLANNER
My daughter saw it and wanted it and her birthday was coming up , so I bought it for her as a surprise.She is very happy with it as she is a wedding consultant and loves to give parties. She says she would've bought it if she had seen it in the store NEW. It came in record time and was packed very well. I was very impressed.

Obviously this book is not intended to give you a cookie-cutter plan for your next party, but it is a great resource to get the ideas flowing. I have reviewed the book over and over for ideas but you still must be very creative and talented to take what is in the book and make it a reality.
