The 10.2 MP digital SLR camera saves energy with the auto power save to shut down after a period of non-use. The Nikon camera also reduces red-eye from the pop-up flash for better images, and users can even turn the flash off when it isn't needed. This Nikon D80 digital camera body measures 13.2 cm wide, 10.3 cm high, and 7.7 cm deep, and it weighs 585 g.

    D80 Body

    I purchased the D80 to use for an infrared conversion. Since the conversion I have used the D80 on a daily basis and find it a joy to use. The quality is great for what I need. Very happy!

    Just get it for a cheap second body. Won't disappoint!

    The D80 is a very capable camera. Given the price ou can one one for, it's a bargain. Would get this one over any D3xxx or D5xxx any day. Bought it because of the AF motor, since I have a lot of non-motorized lenses that I wanted to use. I was expecting much lower performance from a model this old. I was surprised by the quality of the files. Yes, there are some features that might keep gadget-freaks away: no live-view, no video, no HDR or any other pseudo-photography crap. It's a photo camera, not a smartphone!

    Still good enough for the "semipros", easy to use for the beginners!

    This is my second D80 purchase(a gift to my wife). This particular D80 body appeared as new, but in general: D80 is still my favourite choice( I've got approx 80 cameras, 4 Hasselblads, 3 Leicas, 3 Contax, several Nikon F's F2, F3, F4, F5, etc) even though the model is some years old. The design is awesome, low weight and easy to use. It works like a pro! AF drive inside the body allows you to use your old AF lenses. Will recommend battery grip to faciliate the practical use, and for the appearance!

    Low budget entry into taking photography seriously

    If your looking be serious about your photography and wanting a dslr at a fairly low budget this is the one for you. It was replaced by the D90 a few years ago so they are quite a few around secondhand. Look for scratches on camera and ask for a frame count , many were used by pro's as a backup in their camera bag, so a low frame count with box and all accessories are the ones to take a serious look at. One last point, this camera does NOT shoot Hd video.
