    Onkyo TX SR505 receiver

    I particularly like the Onkyo products. The lay out on the back of the receiver makes hookup a breeze. The jacks are color coded and separated in such a manner that wiring is less confusing. I also like the remote control. Lay out is simple and easy to use. The main buttons, volume and channel, are larger than the other buttons and easy to see. The remote has all of the essential modes without being overly complicated. The price was very reasonable for a product of this quality. The new microphone setup for sound levels makes acoustical adjustments for the room very simple. The manual instructions were well written. This is well designed audio/video product.

    Excellent Receiver for the money!!

    I bought this receiver to gear up for the next generation of home theatre, Moving from 5.1 to 7.1 surround. It arrived still in the original box, in as described condition. Once I got this unit in place, it was immediately noticeable that the sound quality was better. Especially with movies. It supports some of the newer variations of the ProLogic encoding. The speaker setup feature was something I had not messed with, but turned out to be quite easy, just follow the instructions and it will do the rest. Sound quality was an immediate improvement, but that could be from it having a bit more power than my old receiver and is able to drive the speakers better, with more overhead. Would I buy this receiver again? In a heartbeat!! 5 bars! My previous receiver, which is still in ...

    Great Receiver For The Money

    This receiver is a great choice for a person getting into home theater. The 7.1 setup is self programming, and allows for everything from HDMI to optical audio. The audio quality is great, and setup is easy. Great receiver for people on a budget.
